Here's another of my absurd short story covers from the early 80s. This one begins: And so it was, that every day, while the other four old gentlemen made copies of their wallets and hands in the post office lobby, ex-tax collector and grey-whiskered troublemaker, Frank Middlesex, sat and watched for cars.
