Pencil Studies, Unleashed

The following gallery of rough pencil sketches comes from Ruby, the Rock and Roll Dog, a picture book project that was in development with a major publisher for the past few months, but which has been aborted due to an editorial impasse concerning the text, the author choosing to seek another publisher. Nevertheless, I wanted to share these images, hoping they might be illuminating, revealing something of the intricate process involved in creating a picture book. Please note that the sequence is random, and is not in accordance with the story itself.
